Known for radically re-orienting the focus of Modern art in the post-war twentieth century, away from material emphasis and pure abstraction towards the language of food packaging, advertising and spectator iconography. Andy Warhol's style of visual art reflected the prevalence of popular culture as "cool", near literal mythology.
